time machine to the 90s

If you follow me on instagram you might have seen my sneak peek of this product, along with the caption "coming next week" ... a whopping 17 weeks ago. eek!

I've (obviously) been working on this for a quite a while and I'm so excited! I wanted to create a product that would feel like an actual time machine -- not just an item but an experience. When you first open the package, you'll see a link to a 90s playlist to listen to while you start looking through your time machine. The kit includes all of the sights, sounds, tastes and even smells needed to transport you back to your childhood.

I don't want to give much away since I think it would ruin the initial experience of reliving things that have been absent in your life for the last 20 years (or if you're an 00s kid with an affection for the 90s, experiencing these things for the very first time!) But suffice to say, there's candy and a boy band poster in every single box. The rest is like a mystery airhead candy -- you'll just have to open the package to find out what's inside! ;)

sneak peek

I'm not quite ready to do a full room tour yet but here are some sneak peeks at my favorite little areas of my room! I'm really happy with how everything is coming along. Honestly I was pretty underwhelmed by how I decorated my apartment (except the kitchen, I loved that room) and every once in a while I'd stare longingly at photos of my old bedroom. But this feels perfect. It's weird how much your surroundings can influence your mood, but I'm just so much happier in this space.

I donut think so

With the exception of brooches, I've never been a huge jewelry-wearer. Mostly because I'm actually not a big fan of traditional gems and sparkly stuff (with the exception of glitter!) However -- I Love Crafty totally changed my opinion on the subject. I find myself wearing necklaces a lot more often now that I've started acquiring a little collection of fun novelty jewelry from their super cute shop.  For instance this cat lady necklace, which is probably my favorite thing in my jewelry box.

I Love Crafty just debuted a new line today - the ILC Bakery, which features a whole array of ridiculously adorable, super sweet (literally & figuratively) donut themed pieces! The attention to detail is unbelievable. Even the packaging looks like it came from a little bakery! If you've got a sweet tooth, definitely check it out! :)

a sunny day

A couple years ago I wore an outfit inspired by a sunny day and I decided to revisit that idea again last week. I think I still like the first one better as an interpretation of a sunny day, but as an outfit I like this better. (If that makes sense?) I love the grouping of vintage enamel pins SO MUCH. I thought it might be kind of crazy looking but I'm in love with how it turned out!

I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend! Usually I end up working through holidays but the last week was SO SLOW in my etsy shop (seriously, I think my store fell off the face of the internet) that I decided to just kick back and relax all weekend, since I didn't have much to do anyway! I hung out in bed with the cats all day yesterday just reading and napping. I finished one book and got about halfway through another one. I need to do a book post again soon, I kind of let that slip a few months ago... I hope I can still remember details from all the books I've read! eek!
