wishlist wednesday // pie dress!

If ever there was a dress that was Charlotte-Charles-ish, this is it. A DRESS COVERED IN PIES!! Even the shape just screams "Chuck!" am I right?! I want to buy it and wear it with a little cropped cardigan and over-sized cat-eye shades while I track down murderers with a boy who can bring back the dead. Okay, that last part is highly unlikely, but at least I can wear the dress with a sweater and pretty sunnies ;)

I'm surprised (and a teensy bit disappointed) that it isn't called "The Pie Hole dress" or "The Pie Maker dress" as an homage to Pushing Daisies, but c'est la vie! Sometimes I forget that not everyone is as obsessed with dresses that remind them of this tv show as I am, lol ;)

I think I used the same title the last time I wore this dress, but how can I resist!? Bees immediately scream "Pushing Daisies" to me now. And bees in the form of a perfect little pillbox hat and vintage shirt dress? Well that just has Charlotte Charles written all over it.

Oh my gosh. I just realized this is another insect print! lol!!! I didn't even realize it when I wore the outfit. Maybe this is just my subconscious bidding adieu to all of the bugs that will soon be in hibernation. The day when the only little critters I see in my house are the ones printed on my clothing can't come soon enough for me! ;D

belt and tights - h&m

Here's a little sneak peek of my new closet! I thought it would be perfect for outfit photos once in a while since there's a big bay window on one wall, but for some reason it came out terribly washed out and grainy. Might just be the time of day or something.. we'll see! The room is almost totally finished, so I'll be taking pictures to post really soon :)

When I saw this dress, I immediately thought of Charlotte Charles from Pushing Daisies! Not only is it shaped like a frock she'd wear, but it has bees printed all over it, and she was a beekeeper!! Perfection! It also reminds me a bit of Miss Frizzle from The Magic School Bus! I loved how all of her dresses matched her lesson plans. If I was a teacher, I'd totally do that.

Speaking of teachers, I stumbled upon a teaching supply shop on amazon yesterday and it's taking all of my willpower not to blow all of my money on chalk holders, two sided pens and testing notebooks. Anyone want to come over and play school with me??

Style Idol - Charlotte 'Chuck' Charles

A ginormous 'THANK YOU!!' to Millie for introducing me to Pushing Daisies last year. It's definitely in my top five favorite tv shows of all time now and I've probably watched every episode at least six times since I first borrowed Millie's copy of Season One last November. Everything about this series is absolutely perfect, from the dialogue and set design to the plot and wardrobe. Each character has amazing clothing, but Chuck's is by far the most wonderful. Her hats, dresses and matching coats are LITERALLY to die for (Don't worry, that was a proper use of the word literally.. if you watch the show you'll get it ;-)

I ended up screen-capping at least one outfit from every episode, they are all that fabulous! If you haven't seen Pushing Daisies yet, I really can't even begin to describe how sensational it is! It's exceptionally quirky, so I guess it's not for everyone, but I love it to bits! Scroll through the outfit photos and I think you'll understand one reason why...
